OUR STORY
Based in Austin, Texas, Geevani, was founded on the principle that the best things in life come from the heart. The company is dedicated to bringing to market a unique range of deliciously good-for-you foods and beverages, with fresh ingredients sourced from around the world, inspired by joyful living.

The story of Geevani begins in Los Angeles at the corporate headquarters of a global multi-billion-dollar food and beverage company where Mark Masten and Swaroopa Guntuboyina (“Roopa G”) first met and fell in love. After a series of life-changing events, the couple’s outlook on life shifted. With a new, shared sense of adventure, Mark and Roopa decided to take a leap of faith and shape their own destiny by forming their own company.

The inspiration for Geevani came after a long, dusty hike through Los Angeles’ Santa Monica Mountains on a hot summer afternoon. Depleted and dehydrated, neither water or energy drinks quenched their thirst, leaving them both unsatisfied and wanting more.

Indians treasure sugar cane juice not only for its lightly sweet taste, but because it cools and energizes the body and provides Aryuvedic health benefits. And while the taste of sugar cane juice stood out vividly in my memory, I couldn’t find it anywhere in Los Angeles. I knew then that, together with Mark, I wanted to bring the beverage of my childhood here to friends and family in the U.S.

I grew up in India where glasses of cold, refreshing sugar cane juice, flavored with fresh fruit juices, spices and poured over ice, was sold on every corner…

According to Ayurveda principles, sugar cane juice offers many positive benefits supporting good health including increased vitality, improved immunity, and boosted energy. Along with beneficial plant-based phytonutrients, sugar cane juice offers a good source of iron, which helps carry oxygen throughout the body; naturally-occurring potassium, vital for the regular functioning of the body’s cells, tissues and organs; and bone-building calcium too – without any added sugar.  A 8 oz glass of sugar cane juice typically has 13g of sugar – compare that to a 8 oz. glass of grape juice which has 36g of sugar!  No wonder sugar cane juice is considered to be “nature’s original energy drink.

At 180 calories per 8 oz serving sugarcane juice is full of complex carbohydrates and naturally satiates the body’s need for a nutrient dense replenishment.
